Lace fabric is also one of my favorite things to create crafts out of. I have gone more into depth about the wonderful things and crafts you can do with lace on my website, www.collegeaptdecorating2.webs.com under the recommended products page!
You wonder what can I do with lace you ask? Well one I already put in one of my previous blogs that I bought lace ribbon and used it to tie back the curtains I made for my apartment. Being on such a low budget, this lace ribbon was a cute way to let the sunshine in! If you have any old necklaces too, they can be used as a classy way to also hold your curtains back. It’s a great way to recycle old non-used necklaces instead of throwing them out! Anyways, back to the lace ideas, one of my favorite ideas for lace is to use lace doilies to create a candle holder. First, you blow up a balloon. Then you use sugar starch and form the doilies around the balloon. After it dries, pop or prick the balloon and remove it from the doily. The Doilies will be in a round shape as it was around the balloon. Place a candle inside of it and you have created a wonderful glow! See, super easy! You can take this idea to a whole different level. Instead of just using a few doilies that cover the bottom half of the balloon, use them and cover the whole balloon where there are no spaces between the doilies. You can also use wallpaper glue instead of sugar starch if you prefer. So glue them to the balloon, dry, pop, and you can a ball shaped doily that you can hang from the ceiling!
